Family voice has really been elevated through the pandemic and it is something great we should find ways to hold onto.

Kids who reflected a sense of "not knowing" in any category, showed a lower reporting of assets- it was a good training prompt for staff

If we are going to be data driven in our practice, and use it to allocate resources, we need to expand what we measure.

We also define success so narrowly and in ways that do not elevate the ways society and jobs are changing or the strengths, resources and skills students find meaningful

Helping kids be authentically seen and be connected is something we can all do and have control over.

I get to create resources to share with the entire district around marginalized groups. Build culture and children get to see themselves

I've learned that SEL goes hand in hand with all aspects of critical thinking and true history.

Their are lots of teachers that would like to do this (be the superb teacher who connects) but do not feel they have the tools. That is something we can fix and why curriculum can be so important in the context of system wide transformational change.

Everyone has bias. And as kids we weren't always given the opportunity to understand who we are and why we think the way we do... so as we encourage children to do identity work, it is important that we do as well.
